'Hospital' reveals the extraordinary dilemmas faced by the consultants, surgeons and bed managers of the country's biggest NHS hospital trusts, all of which have profound consequences for the patients in their care. Standing in their way are limited resources, an ever-increasing number of patients and a clock that never stops ticking. The opening episode of the second series follows events as St Mary's Hospital in Paddington receives victims from the Westminster terror attack.

I shot for the series and edited episode 3 which features 85-year-old Stanley, who has dementia. Unpredictable and prone to outbursts of challenging behaviour, Stanley isn't coping well at home. His family are keen for the hospital to find him a nursing home place, but it won't be easy. Not every nursing home will have the skills and resources to manage Stanley's demanding behaviour.

It’s a tiny glimpse into the reality of mental illness, and just the saddest thing I’ve seen on TV for ages. I hope the politicians were watching, too.’
